With our new puppies coming in a little over a month, I feel like a pregnant momma starting to nest. I'm working on puppy-proofing the pastures, anticipating our expanded shelter needs, and buying puppy clothes:
Not anxious or anything.
We'll be cleaning out one bay of the big shed in the north pasture so that we can convert it to a sheep-and-dog shed. This will give our flock and guardians lots of room to get out of the weather. We've just flat outgrown the little hoop hut.
The south pasture will get another gate, and some fence work. That's overdue anyway. What a great excuse to actually get the job done.
If you need some puppy eye-candy, check out Susie's photos of Lucy (our puppies' mom) as a youngster. That's what we have to look forward to. The photos in this set also include shots of her adult Maremmas, too. This is what they look like when they grow up. Gorgeous, yes?
